Nasma Adel Abu Shaera was born in the Gaza Strip, and studied in the pre-university stages, then enrolled in Al-Aqsa University and obtained a plastic arts degree and was one of the first in her specialization. She received her master's degree in 2018 for her thesis titled: "The effectiveness of a proposed program based on visual intelligence to develop artistic design skills among students of the Department of Art Education at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Al-Aqsa University."
During her undergraduate studies, she published a satirical magazine called "Barm" in 2012, along with a number of her colleagues, which dealt with the daily life in the Gaza Strip. After graduation, she worked as an assistant head of the Department of Fine Arts and Graphic Design at the same university.
She is married to Mohammed Shaaban, an artist and teacher at Al-Aqsa University, and they have two daughters.
She participated in the 34th anniversary of Land Day, at the invitation of the Palestinian Ministry of Culture, with a painting of an olive tree whose roots reach all over the globe, which was placed on the western wall of the Saraya government headquarters in downtown Gaza City.
She won third place in the first Gaza Contemporary Art Festival in 2011.
