Ibrahim Hamed al-Astal, born January 20, 1961 in Khan Younis, is married and has four children. He received his bachelor's degree in science and education, Department of Mathematics, from the Faculty of Education at King Abdulaziz University in Medina, Saudi Arabia, in 1984. He received his master's degree in education in the field of curricula and teaching methods from the Faculty of Education at the University of Khartoum in 1988, with the title of his supplementary study: "The impact of the mathematics teacher preparation program in the Faculty of Education - University of Khartoum on students' attitudes towards mathematics." The doctor of philosophy degree in education was also awarded by the Faculty of Education at the University of Khartoum in 1996 under joint supervision with the United Arab Emirates University in the same specialization of the master's degree, with the title of his study: "Building a program to develop the mathematics teaching competencies of middle school teachers in the United Arab Emirates." He was awarded a professorship in mathematics education in 2015. Dr. Ibrahim was appointed head of the South Branch at the Islamic University since the beginning of 2015, and in September 2020 he was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Education at the Islamic University.

During his career, he has held several positions, including as an associate professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the Faculty of Education at the Islamic University in Gaza since September 2009, and in early 2015 he was appointed head of the South Branch at the Islamic University.In early 2015, he was appointed head of the South Branch at the Islamic University, and in 2019 he assumed the deanship of the Faculty of Education at the university. Before that, he worked as an associate professor at the Faculty of Education and Basic Sciences at Ajman University of Science and Technology from July 2004 to July 2009, where he headed the Department of Educational Sciences, the Office of Practical Education, and the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education and Basic Sciences. He worked as a part-time professor at Al-Quds Open University (Abu Dhabi Center, United Arab Emirates) from the beginning of the second semester of the academic year 1997/98 until the end of the second semester of the academic year 1999/2000.
